What about the snow village? This is such a fun part of arranging, re arranging, and again rearranging.

Christmas Decorating

Thanksgiving night, any grandchildren who are willing, and can, stay over night. Movies and treats are a big part of the night. Then on Friday we eat breakfast and decorate for Christmas.

Tyler James Palmer

Here is our new baby Tyler James Palmer. He came into this world at an even 8 pounds. I know the Lord has brought new technology into our lives for these little ones to survive. We hope he is breathing on his own today. He will be able to go home when he can sustain life without the help of oxygen for 24 hours. At this point, Scott and Deedra have been able to hold him. Tyler must have been comfortable with mom because he pooped on her white shirt.

Grandchildren Tree

Look at the 'Grandchild Tree' that Joel and Whitney made for us. There are 5 branches that hold 13 pictures. I just need to make sure the little ones are updated often as the growing and changes take place. What a precious bunch of kids to bring the family spirit into our home. We can eat every meal with our grand kids!

Ellies' first hair cut.

So, here is Ellie's first hair cut. You can tell she likes to have her hair played with. She was a real ham. After the hair was done, she had to show everyone the curls in her zip lock baggie.


She loved every minute of the adventure. Whitney is good at everything she does.

And the finished product was beautiful!!!

Family Gathering (reunion)

June 2009 our family reunion started with bowling fun. Just look at the smiles. Look at the perfect form. Too bad the little ones could capture more strikes than the grand parents.









Just look at the serious concentration. I have to say that Ryan did increase his score on this roll.









Lots of instructions, bumpers in the gutters, and great encouragement from everyone.






Next was lunch. All you can eat pizza, pasta and desert!











After all the food, Jason got a work out with all the pony rides. (this is the way the lady rides) I think it was fun to watch the kids hold up an arm like they were riding in a rodeo.





Can you believe it took Ryan, Hayden and Sammie Jack to show off Jared's big muscles? Yup, Jared won this match.







Saturday morning, bright and early, we headed to Grandpa Jack and Grandma Lola's home. We worked together to weed flower beds, saw and stack wood and generally clean up the yard. Smiles come easy when love of family abounds.































I think we had 3 saws going at the same time. I am glad the guys took charge of this part of the work.
















Ryan, Hayden and Sammie Jack purchased army cloths yesterday at the Army Surplus Store, and they worked like serious solders stacking the smaller wood pieces.










After the work, we had a great time "COOKIN ON A STICK" and visiting with grandma & grandpa.

We are blessed to have such a wonderful family. It takes each person to make this family the amazing bunch we are! THANK YOU everyone for your efforts to make this year such a perfect reunion.

OK so here's the plan: TJ and four of his friends decided to ride out of town on their horses and camp out for the night. Hayden had the Flu or he would have been along for the ride as well. It had been raining and was threatening again but with his yellow rain slicker across his saddle, it would take more than a couple of rain drops to stop this cowboy.

Boomer's ready to go but Honey says no. (TJ took Honey for one of his friends who had a saddle but was short a pony)

"Headin' for sunset" The cowboys made camp at the springs. They put up their horses in some old corrals and stowed their tack in half caved in shed to keep it dry. Dinner was cowboy beans cooked in the can and steak on a stick. (Grandpa Jack would have fit right in with this crowd.) The next morning they saddled up and rode a couple of miles to Gayle Hanson's range. They made a circle of the place and gave him a count of his stock when they got back in.

Scenic Falls Race

The annual Scenic Falls race is to help a charity, this year it is Development Workshop. Kourtney and I participated a few years ago. This year Justin, Valerie, Isabella, Isaac and Ethan warmed up their mussels and made the big run and walk. I did not get to the park in time to cheer at the finish line for Justin or Valerie, but I made it in time for the younger ones. This type of event gives us opportunities for revving up our motors and powering down those paths at our fastest speeds. It was awesome to see and hear all the cheers from the side line observers as children came across the finish line. I feel very rested, but it was a great workout for Valerie and Justin, they ran their race and then went with the children on their race.

THE END

Face lift

We are giving our home a face lift. With the energy, knowledge and tons of muscle power, the old place is looking pretty good. We hope to get the pictures on the wall soon, and we are still looking for those special items that we want to place. The priceless family heirlooms and treasures are a must to keep and make a place for. However the junk is little by little going out the door (sad to say but some stuff must find the dumpster and not be given to DI).

Do ya love the crown molding? I think it looks awesome! Mother's Day was a perfect time for Justin, Valerie, Isabella, Isaac and Ethan to gift us with the needed ceiling fan, and white was a perfect blend to the new decor.

The kitchen was a TRIAL. We had to strip off the old linoleum that has been on the floor for at least 40 years. Back in the old days flooring was glued down with a type of 'tar glue', and the only way to get to the bottom if it was heat. Can y0u imagine how long it took to use a heat gun and putty knife one board at a time? I bet Joel, Whitney and Dad can tell you how long and how discouraging it was. The tar glue is gone, but the black color that did not come up gives a stressed wood look. I love the way the black brings out the natural grain of the wood. Whitney chose the wall color, green bottom and yellow top. We are still using the red accents that have always graced my kitchens. I am glad Whitney has a good eye for color combination, my brain could not grasp the vision of what we were doing so I must admit I was pleasantly surprised when it all came together.

The dinning room looks kinda empty right now. Joel and Whitney have a special plan for our 'GRAND CHILDREN WALL'. I am excited to see how it turns out.

I really love the beauty and character of the original home.

Super Sam! We are so excited for our summer vacation to Idaho we are already packing the RV. We will be leaving June 24th and hopefully staying for at least 3 weeks maybe 4. The boys are excited to see cousins and have lots of fun.

Here is Jason giving advice to the seniors of Joseph City. Of course, the advice included stories ranging from poop to how to handle a woman correctly. He was a hit!
